Unlike Alaska, you have to "curb your dog" pretty much everywhere you go....so Matt and I brought some trusty little bags to clean up after Tunari.....lovely. I think he really enjoyed the walk though...since most days he stays home and waits for Jenna to get home from work. As you can see, we had a beautiful day....and the leaves are just starting to change. In a couple weeks, I'm sure I'll be posting more fall foliage pictures.
Tunari was pretty pumped about the water, and took a dip a couple times. Matt and I, however, stayed out....not only because there's no swimming...but also because it's called Leach Pond. Not the most inviting venue for recreation.
Like the Fairbanks area...Massachusetts is really marshy and boggy. But the park itself is really pretty this time of year...and there's some good opportunities for bird watching (if you were so inclined).
And, Tunari WAS so inclined...as he propped himself up on the wooden bench in the old bird blind.
After hiking a couple miles, Matt and I started to realize that we were tuckering Tunari out. He's not used to long mid-day adventures. I don't know what he would do if he was thrown in Fairbanks for a year....those Alaskan dogs are intense. But maybe if we keep taking him on these little jaunts....he'll get more in shape....and so will we.
