A German Girl in Boston

On December 29th, the same day Colin departed for Alaska....my friend Stefanie from Germany arrived in Boston to visit. I haven't seen Steffie in over a year, and she found wicked cheap tickets to Boston...so we shipped her over here to play in the snow.

And snow there was! Shortly after Steffie arrived, southern Massachusetts got bombed with a New Years Eve snowstorm. Lucky for her...she had some time to enjoy Boston snow-less for a couple days before the onslaught.

We went on a nice little walking tour of Boston, which included Boston Common, Bolyston Street, Quincy Market/Faneuil Hall and of course the Prudential Building. Since it costs money to go to the top of the building...we decided that if we were gonna drop any cash...we'd drop it at the bar instead. The Top of the Hub is a restaurant/bar that's at the top of the Prudential building that has an amazing view of the city (as you can see above).

We picked a beautiful day to go, and thanks to the Smiths suggestions...we enjoyed high-altitude cocktails while taking in the view.

Here we are walking down Bolyston St. in the windy weather. It was pretty chilly outside, but it added to the holiday ambiance. And the sky was so beautiful and clear....

In this picture, you can actually see the moon (the crescent above the tree) and Venus (the bright star on the top left) shining brightly. The building with the lights on the top, is where we had drinks and took tons of pictures :)

We soon moved onto Quincy Market to get some food and try and warm up a little bit. They still had holiday lights everywhere...and everything looked really beautiful.

As you can see...we really lucked out with the snow. I think Steffie really enjoyed Boston, even though she didn't get to see all of it. But that's okay...that leaves us more things to do when she comes back to play!
